Hot weather expected Friday into early next week for southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon… the first episode of hot weather this summer is expected over southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon beginning Friday and continuing into early next week. Temperatures will be similar to the short unusually hot spell that occurred in the spring during the middle of May. Inland temperatures will likely reach into the 90s beginning Friday and continuing through the weekend…possibly extending into early next week. Some inland locations could reach the upper 90s this weekend. Even the coast should see some unusually warm weather…with some temperatures into the 80s Friday and possibly even on Saturday. Except for the short hot spell in mid may…it has been unseasonably cool through the spring and through much of June. This will again be a rather abrupt transition to hot weather. Be sure to be careful of the heat in coming days. Stay indoors if possible and avoid vigorous exertion during the heat of the day. Also be sure to stay hydrated with plenty of liquids such as water.
