2nd Annual Lughnasa Festival

NorthCoastOregon July 23, 2008

Astoria, Or – Saturday July 26, 2008 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Gather around again to celebrate bread and the local harvest with a Farmers’ Market, Scorcher Wheel races, fortune tellers, cake walks for the food bank and much more!

Includes TROLL RADIO REVIEW! A celebration of bread and our local harvest!

WHO? You, your family, friends, neighbors and anyone else you can get.

WHAT? A community celebration!
Including: Live music all day; fabulous farmer’s market; old fashioned carnival games; cake walks; hands-on demonstrations of blacksmithing, rocket stoves, worm composting, home-brewing and more; games in the Fort Astoria park; Scorcher wheel races down 15th street; a mysterious labyrinth walk; bread blessings; the Local Food Challenge, bicycling super heros and a full court of beauty queens…. Last year’s event was described as magical, joyful and by one participant as like being in an excerpt from a Fellini film.

WHEN? This Saturday July 26 from 10-4

WHERE? Starting at the corner of 15th and Duane Streets in Astoria in the areas adjacent to the Blue Scorcher Bakery and Fort George Building.

WHY? Because we all need time to dance and eat together as a community. Because it is important to give thanks for the harvest. And mostly because it is fun.

So put on your party clothes, grab your boon companions and come down to eat, dance and make merry.
