Cannon Beach Farmers Marke

Staff June 30, 2008

The 2008 Cannon Beach Farmers Market is open Tuesdays from 2:00 – 6:00 PM through September 30. The CBFM will offer a wide variety of fresh produce, herbs and hand-crafted artisan food products in the lively Midtown area of Cannon Beach.

The Cannon Beach Farmers Market is an easy stroll and just minutes away from downtown Cannon Beach’s renowned shopping district. The Midtown area is host to several fine galleries and restaurants, as well as the gateway to one of the loveliest beaches in the world and the majestic landmark, Haystack Rock! Please come and enjoy the new Cannon Beach Farmers Market!

The Cannon Beach Farmers Market is located just west of Cannon Beach City Hall, in the Midtown parking area at the intersection of Gower and Hemlock.

Pick of the Market
Can’t make it to the Cannon Beach Farmers Market before 6 p.m.? Call them at 503.436.8044 by Friday at 5 p.m. to order a pre-paid “Pick of the Market” bag full of whatever is fresh at the Market on Tuesday! Select produce, fruit and 1 loaf of bread will be included along with a CBFM Market Bag for $35.00. Pre-payment is required. Delivery within Cannon Beach is possible for an additional $5. If you require delivery, please say so when you place your order. Bags not picked up before 6 p.m. that have not arranged delivery will be donated to the Clatsop County Food Bank.

Market Dinners
Tuesday evenings, after the Farmers Market closes, there’s the Market Dinners to look forward to. Local chefs team with CBFM farmers and vendors to create family style meals using whatever is in season and available at Market that week. The profit from these dinners will benefit CBFM. The following establishments are accepting reservations for the Farmer Market Dinners: Evoo Cooking School 503-436-8555; Spirited Wine and Art 503-739-6190; Watercrest Inn 503-436-2842.

Cannon Beach/Seaside Restaurant Collective
This collective has formed to purchase directly from our Vendors — deliveries for these goods will happen pre-Market. This makes it viable for some of our Vendors, in times of increasingly high gas prices, to come all the way to Cannon Beach.

Do you have a face painter at your market?  I’ve been painting faces for about 5 years and do full face and cheek art.

I think the Cannon Beach market is a serious food (farmers) market.  Face painting would go better with the Carny atmosphere of the Astoria Sunday Market.
